Sore throat gargle - Sage tea

Sage tea is often used as a natural remedy for sore throats due to its soothing, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.   Here’s how to use sage tea as a gargle for throat relief:

  • Prepare the Sage Tea:

    • Boil water and add 1 teaspoon sage leaves/ cup water
    • Let it steep for 10-15 minutes, covered, to trap the essential oils.
    • Strain the tea to remove the leaves.
  • Cool the Tea:

    • Allow the tea to cool down to a comfortable temperature that is warm but not hot, to avoid burning the throat.
  • Add Salt
    • Add 1 tsp salt/ cup of sage tea
  • Gargle:

    • Take a sip of the sage tea and gargle it in the back of your throat for about 30 seconds before spitting it out.
    • Repeat this process 2-3 times as needed.
  • Frequency:

    • Gargling with sage tea can be done several times a day, particularly when you first start experiencing soreness.

Always consult a healthcare professional if symptoms persist or worsen, as they can provide tailored advice and ensure there are no underlying issues.
